Neil Atkin is founder of the charity "Rubbish Science", through Operation Orphan. The aim : to empower people, especially in developing nations, to improve the quality of life by using resources such as rubbish to develop solutions to every day problems and in doing so use and teach scientific literacy skills He has spent time with the Rohingya refugees in Malaysia, worked with orphans on the rubbish dumps of Sierra Leone, as well as Nepal and Kenya On top of this he has authored numerous science books, trained teacher in South west England and even worked with Arsenal Football club We talk about his work, his passion for science, and why it is important in developing nations
